Biography

Hoda Malekpour received her BS degree in Electrical Engineering (2009) from the Iran University of Science and Technology and MS degree in Electrical Engineering - Semiconductor Devices (2012) from the University of Tehran (2012). During her MS studies she worked on the reactive ion etching for developing nano-grass structures on silicon, and exploring their applications. She later joined the Professor Balandin’s laboratory at UCR where she received her PhD degree in Electrical Engineering (2016). During her PhD studies, she worked as a Research Assistant in the Phonon Optimized Engineered Materials (POEM) Center investigating thermal properties of graphene and its derivatives. Dr. Malekpour’s dissertation was focused on thermal characterization of materials using the Raman optothermal technique. Since 2017, she has been working as an Assistant Project Scientist with the POEM Center.
